Schindler Update 2017_11_20

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Taiwan!
In light of Thanksgiving approaching in just a few days, here are 5 things we are thankful for that happened during the past month:

  1. Continued smooth renovation of the Gospel Coffee House – opening date Jan 7, 2018!
  2. Max’s great adjustment to preschool and the positive development we are seeing in him
  3. Another missionary kid that Sam gets to play with twice a week to keep him company while Max is at school
  4. Reconciliation among co-workers
  5. A visit from Erich’s parents

Prayer and Praise

    • Thanksgiving week. Kelley will share twice this week at the mission center about the meaning of Thanksgiving. Please pray that through each event opportunities will arise to have deeper conversations with the local parents attending these outreaches. We plan to celebrate Thanksgiving with other missionary friends on Thursday and enjoy a home cooked meal together!

    • Coffee Shop. Please pray for Erich as he is navigating all the fine details (lawyer meetings, employee contracts, financial planning, etc.) of opening a modern coffee shop. Pray for wisdom, clarity, and good communication between all parties.

    • Health. As always, we appreciate prayer for good health and strong immune systems. Please pray for good sleep at night and protection from unwanted germs!

  • We echo these lyrics to the old hymn “We Gather Together” often sung at Thanksgiving: “Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining, ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine”

For the Glory of God,
Erich, Kelley, Max, and Sam

On a short hike outside Taipei city with Erich’s parents – it’s great having them here 🙂
Those are not oranges, they’re persimmons, a delicious fruit harvested in Taiwan around this time of year.
