Schindler Update 2012_08_15

Dear Faithful Friends and Supporters,

Greetings from Taipei! This past month has been a bit of a whirlwind of travels, as Kelley was in the USA for 3 weeks, and then we were together in the Philippines for 5 days. We are thankful for God’s protection as we traveled many miles by plane, car, boat, and motorcycle during the last few weeks. It was wonderful for Kelley to reconnect with many of you as she spoke in churches, met for meals, etc. We are so thankful for such a wonderful group of people who so faithfully support and pray for us!

How can you being praying for us?

  • Please continue praying for our housemates, Niall, Hannah, and Edie (1 year old) Dunne. We’ve been told by a friend who works in the government that the decision regarding their appeal to lift the 3 year deportation will come at the end of August- pray for favor and a good result!
  • Some exciting opportunities have been opened to us to explore a church planting project in a working class neighborhood. Please pray for wisdom in decision-making, and good communication as we dialogue with our Taiwanese pastor.
  • The 2012 Fall season of our Bilingual ALPHA course kicks off September 14th. This season we’ve raised up new leaders to oversee the “English” part, but are still a part of the speaking team who will bring the message each week. Pray for a rich harvest for God’s glory!

Let’s praise the Lord together!

  • Praise the Lord for the ministry opportunities Kelley has at the Garden of Hope. Relationships are deepening and exciting things are in store ahead!
  • Praise the Lord for our international community at Truth Church. We have some very solid, mature friends and co-workers that are blessings from God. September 1-2 we will have our annual retreat together- pray for a refreshing and encouraging time for all.

May you each experience the joy of our Lord today!

For the Glory of God,
Erich and Kelley Schindler

Good Food, Good Fun, Good Fellowship

September 14th will kick-off this year’s Bilingual ALPHA course at Truth. As teams are being formed and planning is underway, this past Saturday we took a day to get out of the city and have fun together. The purpose of this day outing was to invite our non-Christian friends so, that before the course actually begins, they have a chance to get to know some brothers and sisters from church, and already begin building relationships together. The weather was great (super hot, though!) and free of rain (typhoon Saola had made its way out of Taiwan), and in true Taiwanese fashion we had lots of fun, including: small group activities, group games, singing, sharing, and a testimony time. There will be one more outing like this before the course begins and we are trusting God for more people to attend and through the course come to know Jesus as their Savior!
